Over the coming weeks and months, our Transport on Trend series will bring you bang up to date with what’s hot – and what’s not – in the transport world. You might love some of it – you’ll probably hate lots of it. Either way, we’d love you to join in the fun! Drop us a tweet with your transport trends and we’ll try to feature as many as possible!
In the first of our new Transport on Trend posts, we’re taking a look at some of the latest and more ‘colourful’ ways of displaying the most humble of transportation information – destination displays!
MM59 BLU was an Optare Solo SR in the Bluebird fleet before takeover by Stagecoach Manchester. Strangely, the blue number would blink and flash slowly in addition to being a different colour….quirky! Image credit: Atlantean OTO570M on Flickr.
Western Greyhound’s fleet have, for the most part, been fitted with either roller blinds or these rather attractive green LEDs. Image credit: B.BPhotos on Flickr.

First have installed these plush new displays on it’s X1 Enviro 400s for Eastern Counties. Image credit: DavidsTransportPix on Flickr.
And taking colour-LEDs to the extreme – it’s Powys Council-owned Tempos for Cardiff Airport services. Can anybody even read this? Image credit: welshpete2007 on Flickr.
And finally…not exactly LEDs, but new TfL standards mean that London buses are ditching their Day-Glo displays and returning to their traditional white. We can’t help thinking that this has got something to do with those new Borismasters…

So – have you got any examples to add? We’d love to see them! Drop us a tweet with the hashtag #transporttrends and we’ll RT!
